Lace Thread Crochet Hook Information
There's a wide difference in tiny lace thread crochet hooks and today, have compled some information that might just be helpful.
Just the size of the steel hook used can make a difference on the outcome of a doily. These come in different handles in case you're older or have difficulty with your hands. The ends
can be plain metal, plastic, rubber, bamboo and more. For those of us who have hurting fingers and hands, I came across two companies who make small sized crochet hook set that is perfect for arithritic hands. The handles are designed for comfortable manipulation to create your thread crochet work while reducing the pain in your fingers, hands and wrist. It's awesome and convenient using the colored handles. Coloring makes it easier to find your hook size instead of the old way of sorting through the straight mono color steel hooks. In this set, each hook is made of aluminum with rubber handles. This has 10 pieces containing sizes that range from:
- 0.5mm
- 0.75mm
- 1.0mm
- 1.25mm
- 1.5mm

- 2.0mm
- 2.25mm

I've used many lace thread crochet hooks over the years and have still kept the old Boye and Susan Bates tiny hooks which can really have a size range. Some of these oldies came from my grandmother and still work. Also, the Bates and Boye can be purchased by the singles or set, which is convenient if you use the same size a lot or just want to make a project every now and then.
